It Boggles The Mind

05.26.2008

I was thinking…

If my thoughts make people think I’m on crack…if I actually was on crack, would people then think me normal? Or Abby…Abby someone…Abby Normal! Yes that’s it.

WOTD: Apathy

05.25.2008

You know you lack job satisfaction when apathy becomes your friend. I’m not too proud of it…yet.

They say Sloth is one of the 7 Deadly Sins. Personally I think all sins are equally deadly if they go unchecked. But severed consciences can go a long way.

Boredom also gets you into trouble, as can be seen by this site’s history. PTB is but a shadow of it’s former self.

I blame this post on lack of sleep and having watched “A Scanner Darkly” last night.

One thing I am missing is the growth of my niece. Da-gummit! She just turned 2! Happy Birthday Janie!

Life, Deglorified

05.15.2008

Something popped in my head the other day. Kinda reminded me about that part in the Matrix with the traitor selling the others out to the Agents. he said, “Ignorance is bliss.” I’ve been thinkin’ about how that line really applies to life.

Is it better to go about life holding certain aspects in high esteem or a fearful respect before actually experiencing said aspect…or should one experience it first before assessments are made?

Is it better to simply retain that glorified aspect? Is that the definition of “Childhood Innocence”?

Life’s journey is pocked with decisions like this. But are all of them even decisions? Many are simply experiences that one may go through due to their chosen path in life or simply circumstance. Either way, they mold and shape our life experience either psychologically or physiologically and sometimes both.

Pipe Dream (lame title, I know)

05.15.2008

My latest addition to my Flickr account. Kinda forgot I never did post a good pic of my ole London Briar so I took a quick photo with my dying camera.

I seem to only get decent pictures in Macro mode for some reason. Im thinkin’ my auto focus is all jacked up in regular mode. Guess I shouldn’t expect too much from a camera that has spent more time in Irak than a good chunk of the Army. =D

So without further um..somethin….

*BTW its machine cut if anyone’s interested so it’s not exactly a collectors piece, but a very fine pipe nonetheless.

Too Many Bosses

05.14.2008

Anyone else out there have to deal with some straight up “Office Space” style work environment? Having 5 bosses is a royal pain in the arse and drives me up the wall.

I swear this Arms Room has taken 5 years off the end of my life.

Cash Money

05.09.2008

Got 600 bucks in the bank to “stimulate the economy”…I’m pondering what I should buy. Might put it into the car…or save for another car when I get home..which brings me to a lil debate I’m having.

What would be more appropriate for a 4 seasons area bringing in gas prices and the size of the CDA area into the decision making process…should I go for a 4×4 truck/SUV/tank or should I put into something that eats less gas but might have a lil more difficulty in the winter months?

Finally!!

05.05.2008

So after a year and a half, I am finally able to go home for a few weeks!! I can’t tell you how excited I am to break away from this nonsense!

There’s only so much one can take of the same job day in and day out. Granted I’ve had my 4 day weekends, and the occasional 1 to 2 week training, but never any vacation time. Just this whole environment has become hostile now. HAH! I hate to say it, but I feel more at war here than I did deployed.

Odd how outlooks in life can change.

So I was just going over some food plans with the mother figure. I am SO ready for some home cooking. I need a break from Top Ramen and PB&J with the occasional microwave burger. Aaannd the fast food isn’t exactly healthy or cost effective for that matter. When you gots teh billz to pay, it really puts a dent in the uh…”quality” of your daily meals. Normally I would give myself a once a month bonus at the Outback or someplace nice. This month’s been pretty bad in that I’ve hit the big restaurants a few more than my alotted limit, so I now I gotta cut back on some other spending. Maybe I’ll just not eat for the next few days and that should even out the cash flow. eh heh heh heh.

I was told today by someone that they had a son that moved out of Idaho because there were too many rednecks there…even more affirmation that I will be retiring and hopefully dying in Idaho with my rifle in my hand and a ZZ Top beard on my face. Oh and a PBR in my other hand.

Breathing New Life Into The Beast

05.03.2008

So after a discussion with a few mechanically inclined coworkers of mine, I decided to actually work to repair my car instead of giving up all hope on it and leaving it to rot in the parking lot before I ETS.

As it is, my water pump is ded, so I gotta buy a new one of those things. Aaannd then theres list of other parts that I “might as well” replace seeing as it’s an old car.

But I’m thinking of dropping a Hemi in there. Any suggestions?

Maybe throw some Headers on…
