American Soldier told me about a recon mission they made in Ramadi. They had to go to a remote village, and make sure that a certain road passed through it, for a future convoy.
As they crossed the open desert late at night, with the city a couple miles ahead, they suddenly found themselves gradually being surrounded by more and more wild dogs. And these dogs weren't small. Wolf sized, he said. He might be exagerating, but he might not be as well.
Eventually the feral dogs began to move in on them, and they were given orders to start shooting the closest dogs. Next thing you know, the dogs are all comin in fast, and it's a complete firefight.... only giant dogs were the bad guys. Fortunalty only one soldier was wounded. A severe bite to the upper leg.
Anyways... just one of AS's good stories.
The silver bullet for werewolves is what reminded me of that story.

..a picture is worth a thousand words
The dog story is probably not much exaggeration - feral dogs sucked.
